Note the statue retains all of the flowers and garlands, however one of her wings has taken a bump and is starting to separate from her back (it is still attached, but will need proper low temp soldering). The old reddish bronze finish on the clock and statue are worn, with some chips in the paint; the rear hinged dust cover is missing. Height 24 inches

The case is in need of a good cleaning and polishing and it looks like someone has already started the process (has some deep discoloration). The porcelain dial is perfect with original hands. This 12 inches high, brass and rich gold clock, is bright and shining. The brass was polished, The top and base have been regilted or plated, and the movement is very clean and running. Imitation mercury pendulum, hands, 2 piece porcelain dial with open escapement, all clean and original. Some faint hairlines around the winding arbors that you have to strain to see. Three perfect beveled glasses, front and sides. The back glass is plain and I believe the door and glass are not original to this clock. Would pass if it had a piece of beveled glass in the door. 8 day movement, striking half hours and hours on the standing gong, and it is running strong. Ly-Ansonia #355.

Jan 2020 – 303 Antique American Clocks Ansonia “Prism”, ca. 1914. A 10.75-inch high crystal regulator with four chip-free beveled glasses, a visible escapement with ruby pallets, and a false mercury pendulum. Gold plated according to the catalog, but most of the gilding has been polished off and there are some spot of corrosion and spotting. The two-part porcelain dial is clean, the minute hand an improper replacement. Contains a rack and snail unsigned movement that is running and striking on the half-hours. These run about $125 on eBay.

That added touch changes the clock completely.2 piece porcelain dial has tiny hairlines on the 12, which makes them almostimpossible to see. An 11 inch polished brass case, 4 beveled glasses eachwith at least one tiny corner chip. Rarely do I see a corner chip bad enoughto have the glass replaced, but it is a fault I feel obligated to mention.Sometimes it takes a magnifying glass to find them. 8 day movement with halfhour gong strike is running fine. The round movement has a rack andsnail count. The case needs to be cleaned and polished to go along with thegreat jeweled sash and pendulum.

Jan 2022 – #29 Antique American Clocks Ansonia “Regent”, An impressive, silvered case with extensive ornamentation and designs. The 19.5-inch case has been refinished but you can see the original silver finish on the four finials, top-piece, and four post bases; the top piece differs slightly from the catalog illustration (Ly, Ansonia Clocks & Watches , page 399). The body of the clock case has brass plates behind the silver designs. The dial is also silver, behind a thick beveled glass with a chip inside bottom. The signed 8-day time and half-hour strike movement is running and striking on a cathedral gong; there are steel pallets on the outside escapement. This clock originally came with two matching candelabra. Carroll Horton sold this clock to the consignor in 2013 for $1007. $750-$1000.

Condition: extremely dirty, needs full restoration. This clock was brought to us from a barn and we had to clean the bird droppings off it. The hands were inside the back (minute shaft is frozen, do NOT try to turn hands). The porcelain numerals are all there, unbroken. Some case parts are loose, but none are absent. Most of the finish is gone, down to spelter and oxidation. Crystal is absent; bezel OK. Both ‘scape pallets are still fine (just very dirty) For reference, see Ly’s Ansonia book [2nd ed], page 399. Lots of potential on this one Worth $2000 when nice/original. Height 22.5 inches [57cm]

A large and impressive clock. The case was repainted gold many years ago. I looked it over carefully and did not find any broken or missing pieces. This model has the extra fancy dial with separate blue porcelain numerals and serpents at the open escapement. It has a cast brass bezel with a heavily beveled glass. Original brass hands, pendulum and key. This is an 8 day model with hour and half hour strike on a cathedral gong and it is running. 22″ tall.

This is another large and rare metal clock that is 22.5 inches high, candelabras are 20 inches high. There must be a hundred castings in these three pieces, all bolted and screwed together. Although very decorative and ornate, there is only one place that they used any weird animals. There are four strange looking mythical animals, all at the top of the clock. The three pieces all have an identical finish, brass; except for the hands and heavy beveled glass. All the dial parts, sash, rings, elaborate open escape parts, are all brass or brass finished. The 8 day movement has been serviced and is running and striking the gong as intended. Included with this large rare clock is the original pendulum and key. Ly-Ansonia No. 1548, No. 1550.

Another very large and rare clock that is almost never offered for sale, particularly with the 2 matching candelabra. This very heavy clock ismade of both brass and some metal with brass finish. As you can tell everything is a brass-gold color except the black numerals and hands. The entire clock and side pieces are made up of intricately cast pieces, bolted and screwedtogether to form these beautiful pieces. Even the dial, sash, escape wheelbridge are all cast and match the case body perfectly. The 8 day movementstrikes a gong on the half hours, and since it was recently serviced, isrunning just as a clock this exquisite should. It has an original pendulumand key. This large clock is 22-1/2 inches high, same as the candelabras.Ly-Ansonia No. 1548, No. 1550.
