Ansonia Clock Co. Crystal Regulator, “Excelsior”, ca 1904. This may not be the biggest and best crystal regulator Ansonia made, but it is my favorite. Over their lifetime the gold or brass finish wore off or tarnished badly. This one was redone by Bruce Baziluk. He first disassembles the case piece by piece and sends everything but the glasses and movement, to have all the pieces gold plated. Ansonia finished most of them in brass. I prefer the gold and have had all of mine refinished in gold. The metal underneaththe finish is real bronze. They all have 8 day movements, and strike halfhours on a standing cathedral gong. 2 piece porcelain dial is perfect, outsideescapement with jeweled pallets, and is running beautifully. Note the ornategold pendulum with embossed ladies bust. There is nothing plain about thisclock, if you like plain there are other things in this catalog. We try tohave something for everyone. C.1890, Ansonia Clock Co., “Fisher Swing” clock in generally good original condition. The arm has been moist at some time and there is a bit of corrosion around the dial, and the dial with stains and wear (it is still quite good). The canister has taken a bump on the right side. The movement is a bit dirty, but is still running; rear plate is properly die stamped with Ansonia information. Set stem is lacking, but the small end of a double end key works fine. The statue retains original patina in very good condition; bottom felt is missing but is easily replaced. Between 1880 and 1900 Ansonia used two heights of iron bases, as this is the short one, the height is a couple inches less than some catalogs indicate. It is a decent example. Height 22 inches

C.1900, Ansonia Clock Co., “Fortuna Swing” clock in good original condition. The things that keeps this from being excellent are the missing imitation bronze finish on the base of the clock (has simply peeled off with the passage of time), and a couple of small dimples in the ball of the arm. Otherwise this is a nice clock with good old gilding on the frame parts of the arm and generally nice patina. The Fortuna is the largest swing clock that Ansonia offered. Ansonia Clock Co., large wall regulator, “General”, C. 1905. Mahogany case in very good original condition, except for polishing to keep moisture in the wood. This large, heavy clock is 68″ high, and more than a handful for one person to carry. The only exception to being all original is a new painted dial by the Dial House, very expertly done. The movement is Ansonia\’s 8 day, double weight, and time only, with second\’s hand. Nice brass pendulum bob, wood stick painted black, the beat scale, hands, weights, and all the case hardware are quite good and proper for this model. These rare old clocks are selling for $5000 and up in good condition. Ly-Ansonia, page 180.

Ansonia Clock Co. crystal regulator, “Gonfalon”, C. 1906. Came 2 ways, Brazilian Green or white onyx. The top, base and columns are white onyx. We sold a green one in the last auction for $2375, just a little sharper than this one. The brass was polished and had been restored, where the brass parts on our white one has never been polished. We did tighten the case to prevent any breakage of the onyx. I note a couple of places that could be a small break but as I have said repeatedly the veins in onyx many times are misleading and are not actual breaks. All the beveled glasses are good, no chips. The 4″ porcelain dial has a faint hairline at numeral one. The hands are original as is the fancy faux mercury pendulum, all in good condition. 8 day movement strikes a standing gong on the half hour and hours. A good cleaning and polishing would make this clock almost as nice as our green one last auction. Refer to our July 2003 catalog, # 83. Ly-Ansonia #409.

C.1894, Ansonia Clock Co., “Industry”, in excellent restored condition. This owner of this clock took it to a repair shop for a full restoration and it really looks nice. The open escapement movement is clean and running; pendulum inside case. The porcelain dial excellent; hands original. Sure to please collectors of Ansonia figurals. Height 16.5 inches

C.1886, Ansonia, “Jumper No. 2″ shelf clock in excellent condition, with quality replica doll. Other than the replaced doll, which is bisque and very well made, this is a great example, with good original dial (some water stain along lower portion, shadow of an old sticker shows in image near 7), good nickeling on the case and no breaks nor dents. Height 14”

Royal Bonn “La Cannes” Mantel Clock, Circa 1900. With a hand painted scene of Dutch women below the 5 ” enamel dial. The case is dark forest green with gilt accents that makes this the most desirable of the green colored Royal Bonn clocks. The clock has an 8 day time and strike Ansonia movement.
