What a fine rosewood veneer case, refinished some time ago, but just outstanding deep rich color. No veneer loss, but a chigger bite on a corner and a tiny scrape, hauling here no doubt. It would probably cover over if I would take the time. 8 day movement strikes hours on a coil gong. The paper dial is a recent addition, a nice installation, and looks great. Two fine glasses, two like new labels, old brass bob, bezel and rings polished and sure look good with this great rosewood case. The movement is also shiny clean, running strong. Ly-Ansonia #665.

with Wm. A. Terry patent calendar with the month showing through the pie shaped crescent in the dial, pointer for days of the week. W. Terry was the grandson of Samuel; he later became a prominent photographer and never worked with clocks again. Many of this model suffer from veneer problems, but this one is really outstanding in that regard, although the case has been nicely refinished. Has good tablet and decent label inside. A great looking clock, ready to enjoy. Height 26 inches

Ansonia Clock Co. Royal Bonn porcelain case, “Dresden Extra”, ca 1895-1905.

There is a large stamp, or label, on the back that says, “Manufactured Expressly For the American Wringer Co. New York, No.1667”. There is a small chip on the base, in back, that may just be a firing imperfection. Case is 13 1/2 inches wide, 12 1/2 inches high. Green tints, roses and other flowers on all sides, and gold striping. 8 day, half hour gong strike, is running. Pendulum and back door correct.Typical Ansonia porcelain clock but not a model they made to sell from their catalogs. This was Ansonia’s domestic version of their imported “LaNord” case, with only minor variations.

porcelain case is in generally good condition, with floral accents and dark pink highlights; most of the gold highlights have worn off, some minor roughness near the feet, couple spots of latex paint that will clean off. Original porcelain dial is perfect and the hands are original. Metal access door on the back needs attaching [screws and cork are lost] Pendulum is original.. Ht 11.2″
