Note the base has been restored by Mr. Carrick with his trademark bronze finish, and the ribbon trim gold plated. The Cherubs retain their original finish with some wear, but basically excellent. The movement is complete and sound and with great porcelain dial and open escapement. This clock shows in Tran Duy Ly’s Ansonia book, figure 1474 on page 379, and sold new in 1904 for $100. For comparison a Hanging Antique was only $70 or you could have bought two Generals for $94 (47 each), or 5 weight driven Capitals for $20 each. I feel there is room for appreciation in these figure clocks. Height 30 inches

Ansonia Clock Co. “Plush Clock – Florentine, No. 3”, C. 1886.

This is one of a series of 6 plush clocks made by Ansonia. This one came with or without a figure on top, and in different colors of plush cloth. It is evident this case never had a figure on top. The gray clock with gray metal trim is excellent. It is 13.5″ high, lions heads on the sides (no rings), and 4 winged dragons for the feet. The company didn’t cut corners on the dial or movement. The movement is 8 day with patterned brass plates, strikes hour and half hour on a cathedral gong. It has enclosed spring barrels, and a correct pendulum. The dial is 2 piece, faint hairlines around the 9, correct hands, open escape mechanism, brass sash, beveled glass, all very nice and is running well. Ly-Ansonia #2414.

Someone at Ansonia wanted to make a clock of nothing but flowers. Well they succeeded. You can’t tell much from the pictures in the catalogs, but hopefully my picture will show you that the clock is nothing but flowers. I see many, many kinds of flowers depicted on this 16-1/2 inch metal case. It was completely restored by Bruce Baziluk, a few years back, in a Syrian bronze color. 8 day, strikes half hours on a hanging cathedral gong, running nicely. 2 piece porcelaindial is perfect, outside escapement with jeweled pallets. The 4 glasses arenot beveled because the bevel would be behind the metal flowers. I have hadthis clock for a few years, in my collection, but I canÕt keep everything.Ly-Ansonia No. 116.

Condition: Excellent to outstanding original condition. This is a one family clock from Cleveland; still with a bit of nicotine on the case. Remember not to rub this case if you choose to clean it; I would try a little lemon juice with a soft toothbrush, but nothing stronger. The original gilding on the case is really wonderful. Fancy pendulum with cast leafy top and bottom. Porcelain dial with tiniest hairline by S/F hole; otherwise perfect. This is a hard clock to find in such nice condition. Height 16.5 inches

The statue retains outstanding original patina with the perfect amount of oxidation. The canister retains nickel plating and sharp edges. C.1890, Ansonia Clock Co., “Fisher” Swinging Arm clock, in generally good condition.

This swing clock is an unusual model with a female fisher figure more often found on double statue examples, but obviously it is completely original. Eight-day movement is complete and marked Ansonia. This clock is in nice, original condition with original hands, numerals, but “as found” needing cleaning of metal parts. Some wear to plating and some gilt parts on pendulum have been painted gold, and the wire from the fisher’s left hand to the fish has been re-newed. Height 24.5Ó to top of pendulum. $2,500-$3,000

C.1890, Ansonia Clock Co., “Fisher Swing” clock in generally good original condition.

The arm has been moist at some time and there is a bit of corrosion around the dial, and the dial with stains and wear (it is still quite good). The canister has taken a bump on the right side. The movement is a bit dirty, but is still running; rear plate is properly die stamped with Ansonia information. Set stem is lacking, but the small end of a double end key works fine. The statue retains original patina in very good condition; bottom felt is missing but is easily replaced. Between 1880 and 1900 Ansonia used two heights of iron bases, as this is the short one, the height is a couple inches less than some catalogs indicate. It is a decent example. Height 22 inches

The arm has been restored by Chas Carrick, the rods burnished and all the brass buffed. The statue, fortunately retains original patina intact. Height 24 inches

C.1883, Ansonia Clock Co., ÓFisher Swing, Ò(female) with short, 4Ó dial canister arm, original to statue.

Condition: Someone has repaired the support bar where it attaches to her hand. It is running Ok as shown, and retains original finish and patina on statue. The arm has been dropped and the top ribbon on the bow-tie is broken away; paper dial is replaced (Swartchild logo). An uncommon swinger with potential. Height 25 inches
