Ansonia Clock Co. calendar wall clock, "Drop Octagon, Gilt", ca 1883.

Ansonia Clock Co. calendar wall clock, “Drop Octagon, Gilt”, ca 1883.

Rosewood case is 21.5 inches high, gilt all around the molding, top and bottom. Original finish on the very nice looking case. I do notice one tiny veneer chip on one of the octagon corners and a tiny skinned place on another. Hardly worth mentioning. The 8 day movement strikes hours on a coil gong and is geared for a simple calendar. Metal dial is too nice not to have been repainted; however it was many years ago. The clock is running nicely, as is all of this large collection of clocks. Ly-Ansonia #144.
