The tip of this clock has a tiny white spot that got missed in the original factory painting, and has glaze over it, but no green color; this is the only minor item that keeps this from being excellent. The floral decorations on the case are pink parrot tulips and are quite attractive. The paper dial has turned a bit tan color from age. The movement with proper Ansonia markings. Hands are original. Height 11.75 inches

16 inch polished brass case is almost completely covered with rich gold ornaments. The majority of the gold has held fast, but there is some wear on the edges. Brass should be polished to obtain the desired look. Movement is 8 day, rack and snail strike, half hour and hours on a gong. Porcelain dial and movement are signed. Has the desirable Ansonia open escapement. There are a couple of insignificant hairlines on the outer dial ring. Ly-Ansonia No.337.

Another outstanding clock from one of the Missouri collections. The body of the case is polished brass and remains bright and clean. All the ornaments, top, feet, 4 sides, came from the factory in a rich gold . After 100 years some gold has worn off and some remains, particularily in the crevices where human hands didn’t touch. This is about as good as we get not to have been regilted. 4 perfect beveled glasses, original hands, 2 piece porcelain dial, and open escape. If you look close you will see a hairline about as long as a gnats eyelash. The imitiation mercury pendulum has not stopped swinging since the clock arrived. The gentleman that brought me these clocks is an excellent mechanic. The movement is 8 day of course, striking half hours and hours on a standing gong. The case is 16″ high. Ly-Ansonia #337.

One of AnsoniaÕs biggest and best. Came from a collection of nice Ansonia clocks, it is original and unrestored. Lots of detail around the metal case. Rounded sides of silver, trim around the cast scenes is Syrian Bronze and the ornaments, feet, etc. are Barbedienne Bronze. The dial is very special and houses the outside escapement mechanism. 8 day time, half hour gong strike. Clock base and top is enameled iron finish. Resting on top is the statue “Opera” or asI said in the beginning, “Group No. 2806” as shown in the catalogs. 25inches high with the statue, 20-1/2 inches wide. It is more than one man witha bad back can carry. Ly-Ansonia No. 1588, to see the dial go to No. 1486.

C.1904, Ansonia Clock Co., VIOLONE figural clock,

one day time, in excellent original condition. This clock, from Bill Mittelstadt is photographed in detail in Ly’s book titled Ansonia Clocks and Watches (1998), page 507. The only thing that keeps this from being excellent is the missing bow, which shows in the Ansonia illustration. Still an uncommon novelty. Height 7 ” $325-425
