Ansonia Royal Bonn \’La Teste\’ Porcelain Mantel Clock The case, dial and glass are all in near mint condition. The clock stands 10 inches tall, 8 inches wide and 4 inches deep. There are no breaks, chips, cracks or crazing that we can find. The colors are gorgeous and sharp. The case has lots of details with curls and swirls. The bezel is brass with beveled glass. The dial is porcelain and beautiful. It displays the Ansonia logo just below the center. The clock has a brass time and strike eight day movement. It strikes on a coiled gong on the half and counts the hour. The back of the case shows the Royal Bonn crest with the initials \’TM\’ and \’1755\’ and \’La Teste\’. Impressed in the porcelain is the number 1500, the initials GY and a small circular stamp that is not legible. The bottom has a wooden cover. Underneath we found the numbers 3130/6, 4880 and 42. The clock is keeping excellent time.

Description:The fancy script in which the first letter of the name is written could be either an “L” or a “T” or an “S”. I have shown this clear and very legible inscription on the back of the clock to a dozen or so “experts” and most think it is “LA SOMME” which makes sense since that is the only French word of the three that can be translated. It means- “The Slumber”. MINT condition. Does not have a outside escapement.

Ansonia Clock Co., Royal Bonn, porcelain clock, “LaSeine”, ca 1915. This one is a beauty, primarily hot pink, with rose, white, yellow, and pink flowers, front and sides. The name, LaSeine and the Royal Bonn mark on the back of the case. 8 day, half hour gong strike, running just fine. Great porcelaindial, American sash, beveled glass, clean and polished inside and out. Caseis 11-1/2 inches high, 10 inches wide. A really pretty clock. Ly-Ansonia No. 2502.

C.1915, Ansonia Clock Co., “La Seine” Royal Bonn porcelain china mantel clock in excellent original condition. This is a tri-color case, dark red at top, blending down to lime green in the center and dark green at the base. The 4 flowers below the dial are white and dark red, with matching blossoms on sides and top. 24K highlights with some wear, but generally intact. C.1904, Ansonia, Royal Bonn, La Scarpe, in excellent original condition. The paper dial has turned a bit dark with age, but is still crisp and easy to read, retains original gilt brass center trim. The case is tri-color, green yellow and dark pink, with flowers cast into the case on each side and on the top. White and pink peonies grace the area below the dial. Dial good, movement sound; rear dust cover is a proper replacement; board with gong needs replacing (simple). Great Bonn clock for the beginning collector; height 11 inches

The only thing that keeps this from being excellent is a chip in the dial around 2 that has been glued back in and the numeral touched up with black enamel, (noticeable, but not terrible). These replacement chapter rings are available from several suppliers: Timesavers stock no. 20111 is priced at $29 for both the center and chapter ring.
