    in walnut and in very good restored condition. The only item that keeps this from being excellent is a spider web on the porcelain dial by the left winding hole. The case has been professionally refinished and nicely polished. This clock uses Ansonia’s double weight time movement (both great wheels turn against the center shaft), and with a seconds bit. The finials are original, left one with repaired dowel. A very attractive clock. Height 52″

    This cute little timepiece is in generally good and complete condition, although the original gold finish is mostly gone. The porcelain dial and beveled glass are perfect. The hands are original; movement complete, sound and running. The one item you should be careful with is the tip of the gaff, which is bent clear over; we did not attempt to straighten it for fear of a break; should be dealt with professionally (the small side hook is fine). Also note the flag is intact and that is often missing. Ly’s 1998 price guide puts these at $600. Height 12.25Ó $250-$350

    No name on the back, just the firing marks imprinted by the case makers. It is numbered because no catalog shows this clock. When Mr. Ly was preparing his Ansonia book he assigned numbers to those clocks that had no name, hence the numbering system. This Royal Bonn case is pretty large at 14″ high, 11″ wide. No breaks, repairs, chips, or what have you, just the usual hairlines we see in most porcelain cases. The case is predominately cream colored with pink and purple flowers and a small amount of gold highlight. 2 piece porcelain dial is very nice, open escapement, original hands, good beveled glass, original back cover. Correct pendulum, but new from Timesavers. 8 day movement strikes half hour and hours on a gong. Ly-Ansonia #2669.

    No. 503. Is actually named on the back, then we won’t have a No. 503 any longer. This baby blue case, like the pink above, is almost never seen by most collectors. These clocks were acquired over a 40 year period and this could well be the only one made in the baby blue color. This is another well designed case, tall at 14 inch, only 11 inches wide. Like all the clocks in this collection, it is near perfect and has all the usual accessories. Ly-Ansonia, page 630.

Finished in Verde Bronze. Stands 11 inches high, 15 inches wide. Statue is 8 inches. French sash, beveled glass, 2 piece porcelain dial, all near perfect. Correct pendulum, and is running.     The case has etched designs that are gold filled. The black iron case is dirty and wearing, should be repainted. It would appear the attached ornaments were originally finished in black. The case is 15 inches wide, 10 3/4 inches high. This clock has an 8 day movement, striking a gong on half hours, and running. Good 2 piece porcelain dial is signed by Ansonia, nice beveled glass, French sash and has the correct pendulum. The ornaments are pretty exotic, mythical birds, ladies heads. Ly-Ansonia No.968.

    Frequently seen with any number of different statues, Ansonia generally pictured it without one. This is a rather large clock, 15 inches wide, 10.75 inches high, with pounds of ornaments attached, i.e. winged birds on the ends and other large pieces all around. Apparently there is no finish on the applied metal pieces; it now has a dull silver look that to me is ideal with the black enamel case body. There is nice gold in the etchings. 8 day movement strikes half hours on a gong, running nicely. 2 piece porcelain dial is cracked at 4 and 8, but in such a way you can’t tell without close inspection. Good beveled glass in the sash, pendulum and key included. Undoubtedly the case has been apart to work on the ornaments, and was not put back together as tight as it should be. Ly-Ansonia #968.
