Ansonia Clock Co. seated statue clock, “Troubadour”, ca 1894.
This is a poplar model of the seated statue clocks. Part of a collection we acquired from an elderly couple who spent a lifetime together searching for desirable clocks. You will see more in this and future catalogs. Finish is very dark, closely resembling the black enameled iron base, but you can see a lot of original color hiding in the cracks. If you don’t like it very dark and don’t want to refinish, you had better pass on this one. It is 21 inches wide, 16.25 inches high, complete with everything. 8 day, half hour gong strike, running. 2 piece white porcelain dial, open escape, fancy brass hands, beveled glass. Ly-Ansonia No. 504.

cast metal feet were repainted some time ago; black enamel on iron base has several chips. Original finish on statue and clock tower is very good, with minor losses on high spots. Porcelain dial with open escapement is excellent – no chips nor cracks; hands original. The rear dust cover has been replaced. Ht 16.2″
