  • Antique Ansonia “La Layon” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

Ansonia Clock Co., Royal Bonn, “LaLayon”, ca 1904. What a clock! Large at 14.5″ high, 15″ wide. Stylish with the handles on the sides and thecurving of the case. It is also different than others because the reeds andflowers on the sides are molded into the case as well as painted, where normallythe flowers are just painted on the Bonn. Those molded flowers are all goldand more gold was used all over the case than normal. This is a very colorfulcase with blues used top and bottom, yellows and greens in between, and theyellow and pink flowers painted on the front and top. Ly-Ansonia, pages 636-637.Several examples of LaLayon are shown on these pages.

  • Antique Ansonia “La Layon” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

C.1910, Ansonia, La Layon, Royal Bonn, porcelain china clock in very good original condition. This is an attractive two-tone, pink and yellow case with rose decorations and good trademark on the rear. The only thing that keeps this from being excellent is a chip by the right winding hole that was filled in long ago and does not match well (really only noticeable up close). Retains original rear cover, pendulum, hands, etc. Although it is running, it would benefit from service before prolonged use. All of these Bonns have been setting price records on internet auctions. Height 14 1/2″

  • Antique Ansonia “La Layon” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

C.1905, Ansonia, “La Layon” Royal Bonn Porcelain china shelf clock in excellent condition, professionally cleaned and running well. This is a tri-color model, starting at the top with dark pink, shading down to yellow and with dark green at the bottom. We sold the sister to this clock last May for $1600, and expect this one, which is crisper, to do at least as well, however in the spirit of the auction we will provide a reasonable estimate. The 3rd image is from the side. The original gold highlights on this clock are outstanding. This is the “star” of our Bonns today. Height 14″

  • Antique Ansonia “La Hay” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

Ansonia and Royal Bonn “La Hay” Mantel Clock, c.1895 Case- The Royal Bonn Co., Germany; the movement (works) by the Ansonia Clock Co., New York; the porcelain case with floral abundance-Royal Blue accents with white background behind the flowers and gold highlighting on edges. Flowers on each side of the case also. Brass movement; fancy brass dial center and bezel. Paper numeral ring; 11 inches tall by 8″ wide; Condition: Very clean and beautiful clock; in good running condition. Additional Dealer Comments: Royal Bonn collectors often seem to demand only those clocks with an outside escapement-meaning that there is a little toothed wheel under the numeral 12 which rotates as the clock operates. This seems to fascinate and charm certain types of individuals. Others prefer the shape of the clock case and still others the coloring. This beauty-marked the \’LA HAY\’ by the Royal Bonn Co. (on the back of the clock case) is as colorful and attractive as any we\’ve seen. It is clean and without any chips or gouges. There IS however, a tiny hair line on the back of the case below the Royal Bonn trademark. It is stable and will undoubtedly never cause any further problems-but it IS there and we want prospective buyers to know about it up front to spare them (and us) the distress of “discovering” something not disclosed ahead of time.

  • Antique Ansonia “La Grande” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

C.1905, Royal Bonn “La Grande” Porcelain china mantel clock with a good French bell strike movement. This signed Bonn case is exactly the same as the Ansonia LaGrande, so we have no idea whether the French bought these cases direct from Germany, or whether someone simply put a French movement in an empty Ansonia case. We will never be able to answer these questions, however, we can see that this is a beautiful china clock and can be enjoyed as-is, or perhaps be used to replace a broken Ansonia LaGrande case. Porcelain dial is cream colored and excellent; the case is a very pale lime green with dark red, violet and orange flowers, and without blemish. Height 20 inches $550-850

  • Antique Ansonia “La Friese” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

Ansonia Clock Co. porcelain cased clock, “La Friese”, ca 1914. This is another beautiful Royal Bonn, properly marked on the back. I hope the picturedoes this clock justice, and shows the blue top with a lot of gold, the twoblue finials, and progressing down thru light blue, yellow, to the aqua greenon the base. Beautiful pink flowers front and sides. The catalog pictureis black, almost worthless for identification purposes; I hope my pictureshows the lions head in the middle of the base. Clock is 13 inches high, 11 inches wide, much larger than the clock shown as a LaFriese, in Ly-Ansonia, No. 2666. Another near perfect clock from the Miller collection.

  • Antique Ansonia “La France” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

C.1890, Ansonia Clock Co., “La France”, with open escapement, and in generally good condition. The iron case has been touched up and nicely polished, and some one has added an aluminum base to it (about 3/8 inch), and installed an Ingraham pendulum, also has a coffee can lid for rear cover. This clock retains its original hard rubber dial, though the silver background of the numerals is now replaced by the white residue of dried polish. The rubber dials (and even rubber cases for a while) were an effort by Ansonia to reduce shipping damage. The few mentioned items can be corrected with replacement parts from Timesavers, and the bonus is it has high line damascene plated movement. Height 11.25 inches with base.
