Ansonia Clock Co., porcelain clock, “Record”, ca 1901. Ansonia Clock Co., porcelain clock, “Record”, ca 1901. Case is 11 inches high, 13 inches wide. Primary color is green, with some pink flowers and scuds of gold striping. No chips, breaks, or repairs. Excellent case with a correct door and pendulum. Movement is 8 day, half hour cathedral gong strike, running but slightly out of beat. 2 piece porcelain dial, good inner dial, outer ring discolored and has one hairline at 10:30. Ansonia Clock Co. Royal Bonn porcelain clock, “Relay”, ca 1904. This is a bright pink case, pink flowers on all sides and top, a lot of gold, making this a very attractive case. One of the large cases being 13 1/2 inches wide, 11 1/4 inches high. Open places on each side making it very different. There is a small sliver off on the rear bottom, and a place on top the size of a match head that could be touched with fingernail polish. Both places hardly noticeable. This may not be a clock for the purists who are attempting to collect a set of perfect Ansonia porcelain or Royal Bonn clocks. Very nice 2 piece porcelain dial, open escapement in the center. 8 day, half hour gong strike, a good runner, pendulum is not original but Timesavers can remedy that. Ly-Ansonia No.2591.

Ansonia Clock Co. mantle set, “Royal and Candelabras”, ca 1901. Real Bronze, finished in gold with inlaid, hand painted, porcelain panel. This is a large piece, 18 inches high, candelabra are 17 inches. You almost never see these sets together, and in this condition. One piece porcelain dial, signed twice, Rocco sash, beveled glass. The set has been refinished in recent years with new gold paint. Other than that, the 3 pieces are perfect. 8 day movement strikes half hours on a cathedral gong. Ly-Ansonia No. 1530, No. 1531.

Ansonia Clock Co. statue clock, “Sibyl and Summer”, C. 1904. This is a hard one to find in this combination of base and statue. It has the original Syrian Bronze finish on both pieces, very little wear or oxidation, a fine clock that we acquired with a large group of other Ansonia clocks. 24″ high, 10.75″ wide at the base. Nice one piece porcelain dial, beveled glass, original pendulum and back door. The base, “Sibyl” was used with many statues, all attached to the base by 2 pegs on the bottom of the statue. We don\’t find them any nicer unless it is one Bruce Baziluk has refinished. Ly-Ansonia #1499 is the base with a “Winter” statue. “Summer” is seen at #2845.

C.1870, Ansonia, Cast Brass Strut time and calendar in good original condition. This earlier novelty is not shown in the 1881 nor later catalogs, and has a fancy French style design. The paper dial is a little discolored, but still very good for its age. Height 12.5 inches

Ansonia Clock Co. crystal regulator, “Symbol”, C. 1880. May have been the first crystal regulator, followed by similar clocks also called Symbol, then Ansonia graduated to the cases decorated with 4 glasses and various designs. This clock is highly decorated but in a different way. The decorations are inside the case, notably the fancy dial surround, gong stand, 2 jar pendulum, and the beat scale on the base. I have had several Symbol\’s over the years and they all had small separations on the metal base, this case has two. Clean and shining case, new paper dial, everything else old and original. Good glasses all around. 8 day movement, striking hours and half hours on the elaborate Cathedral gong. Very nice clock, just pretend the dial isn\’t new paper. Ly-Ansonia #278.

C.1901, Ansonia Clock Co., “Trianon” 8-day time/strike mantel clock in very good restored condition. The gold finish has been restored with brushed gold paint. The dial and bezel glass are perfect and the hands are original. The lower decorative panel depicting a mill with dam and waterwheel, is also perfect. Overall an attractive clock that seems to run and strike fine; movement is clean. Height 14.5” $275-$375

Ansonia Clock Co. “Triumph”, C. 1880, or more commonly called “Mirrorside”. Several companies made this almost identical clock. The case is oak, which we rarely see, stands 24.5″ high, and was cleaned a long time ago, not refinished. Everything is original and very nice, except we aren\’t sure about the statues. They are white metal and are hollow at the base up about 1 inch, which leads me to think they are original, however the casting isn\’t as sharp as I think originals should be. Ornaments are bronze. Plate glass mirrors are clear and sharp. Glass is original as is the dial, pendulum, and lower finials. The top finials don\’t look like those in the catalogs. 8 day movement, time, strike, and alarm, runs like a top. Strikes a cathedral gong on half hours, alarms on a brass bell. A piece of the label identifies the clock as Ansonia. Change the poor wrinkled paper dial and you will have a very nice clock. Ly-Ansonia #1772.
