Ansonia Clock Co. porcelain cased, “Relay”, C. 1904. This is a large clock that is 13.5″ wide and 11.25″ high. I know it isn\’t one of the La whatever, but it is a very stylish and colorful case, clean as a pin, shining all over, brass shining. All Ruby, even the flowers are darker than most, but an abundance, and some would say an overabundance of gold striping. Note the open pretzel looking things on the sides. Outstanding 2 piece porcelain dial, open escapement, hands, thick beveled glass in the French style, machined bezel, and American sash. Completely original but with a couple of small imperfections; a place on the top the size of a match head that must have been a chip, now touched up with paint; a sliver on the back bottom edge is missing. Neither of the imperfections can be seen unless you are trying to find them. 8 day movement, strikes half hours on a gong, runs good, has a correct pendulum and back door. Ly-Ansonia #2591.

C.1904, Ansonia Clock Co., “Santa Fe” wall clock in black walnut and in very good restored condition. This case style is very similar to the Waterbury “Rosedale” (lot 305), and Mr. Rappaport had them hanging side by side. The case has been attractively refinished; there is a line of small veneer chips along the edge of the door, that are only visible on close inspection. The brass pendulum bob has a small crease in it; weights are new. The original paper dial is excellent and retains Ansonia logo; original beat scale intact. This clock employs the Arrow top double wind 2-weight movement used in many of Ansonia\’s mid range wall clocks; see Ly 1998 book, figure 566. Clean and running. Height 52″

Ansonia Clock Co. statue clock, “Sibyl & Winter”, a rare combination of base and statue, in the Art Noveau line, ca 1904. The base “Sibyl”, is often seen with other statues such as, “Gloria” or “Melody”. The statue “Winter” is one of the rare ones. This combination still has the Art Noveau green color on both pieces and holding well. The cherubs and other ornaments on the base have darkened over the years, has never been cleaned. It stands 24 inches high, and is 10 3/4 inches wide at the base. Great porcelain dial, hands, sash, bezel, and beveled glass. 8 day, strikes on a gong, half hours. It has the correct pendulum, back door, and the wood floor underneath. No breaks or repairs, 100% original. Ly-Ansonia No.1499.

C.1904, Ansonia No. 1088 “SUMMER and WINTER” Figure set in good original condition. This set sold for $24 when new in 1904; for comparison, a weight driven Bagdad was $22 at the time. If you miss this set, be patient as there are another half dozen statue sets to sell. Height 18 inches

C.1880, Ansonia Clock Co., “Symbol Extra” Crystal Regulator shelf clock in generally good condition. The brass is sound, except for minor abrasion on the top; case could use a polishing. The extra thick beveled glass is very good except for very minor chips along one edge. The porcelain dial is good except for a chip filled above 6 and a hairline; (flash obliterated a little of the chapter ring, but it is fine) the pendulum is a modern replacement; open escapement movement is running fine. Height 15″

C.1900, Ansonia, TRIANON, gilt cast metal clock in the French style and in generally good restored condition. Note the porcelain dial was broken and now has a paper dial pasted over it. The balance of the clock and the painted panel are in very good condition. Height 14.5 inches

Ansonia Clock Co. mirrorside (maybe) “Triumph”, C. 1880. We have a mixed bag here. The gentleman who sold me this collection of mirrirsides said this was an Ingraham. No doubt because the pendulum is Ingraham. When I removed the dial I discovered the movement is an 8 day Sessions. The 24″ walnut case could be the Ansonia Triumph, the Waterbury Oxford, the Gilbert Occidental, or the New Haven Occidental, I am not swift enough to tell the difference. There is a full label on the back that is so dark you can\’t read it. It runs, strikes a coil gong. Wood parts all would appear to be original, statues are contemporary. Two things we definitely need to do, change the movement and the pendulum. Maybe you can decipher the label.

C.1914, Ansonia Clock Co., “Versailles”, 8-day time/strike mantel clock. The case in is in clean condition, some chemical may have taken off much of the gilding; there are no breaks (looks OK). The inset porcelain panel is perfect. The porcelain dial is perfect and the hands are original. The movement is signed by the maker. The movement was serviced recently and is in running order. Ready to enjoy. Height 15 inches

C.1914, Ansonia ZENITH crystal regulator in very good original condition. This is a good looking clock with much of the gold wash intact on the Nouveau cast top and bottom. Has a good porcelain dial with open escapement and original hands, small hairline in dial near 8. Note one pendulum nut is missing, but should not be too hard to turn a new one. Height 15 inches
