Ansonia Clock Co., statue clock, “Music”, ca 1894. The harp player and the clock tower are both standing on a black enameled iron base that has stood the test of time pretty well. There are a couple of tiny paint chips, insignificant really, the paint overall is bright and clean. Surely I will be corrected by the more knowledgeable statue collectors, but it looks to me like the clock tower, statue, and feet on the base, were originally all silver except the ears on each side of the clock tower which were gold gilt. The statue has lost most of the finish, the tower and feet have held pretty well. As usual, the movement is 8 day, striking a standing gong, and running. Two piece porcelain dial is very good, signed below the open escapement, has a silver French sash, and a beveled glass. The heavy clock is 22″ high and 19″ wide. Ly-Ansonia No. 502.

Ansonia Clock Co. hanging weight clock, “Niobe”, ca 1904. Made in oak with antique brass trimmings, stands 45 inches high, twisted rope columns top to bottom. 8 day, chain pull up movement striking a gong on half hours, and is running fine. Twisted brass weights, 10 inch brass dial with raised brass numerals. Complete and original. Pendulum bob not like the one pictured in Ly-Ansonia No.577

C.1905, Ansonia “NORMA\’, bronzed spelter crystal regulator in good, but dirty condition. This clock came to us from storage and needs cleaning, and the bronze finish is oxidized. However the case is sound and complete and the dial is perfect. Note this model was produced only with lever movement. A hard to find Ansonia clock. Height 14\’

Ansonia Clock Co., “Eight Day Octagon Lever”, ca 1904. Beautiful11 inch oak case, 8 day, double spring, time only movement, serviced and running. Full label on the back has been well preserved. Everything is clean and polished, only one fault with this clock. The metal inner dial has been replaced with cardboard which covers up the seconds hand, otherwise the clock is near perfect. I would assume they couldn\’t find a correct dial with a seconds dial. Ly-Ansonia No.702.

C.1894, Ansonia, OPERA FAN, as-found, rear strut has separated from the main casting (solder joint has failed, been glued and failed again). Otherwise it is in very good condition with bright dial and original hands. For details, see LY No. 2132. Height 7.75 inches

C.1904, Ansonia Clock Co., “PETITE”, cast metal carriage clock, 1-day time only in fair to good condition. One item that keeps this from being excellent is that the handle is replace with a smooth one from another clock. It is supposed to be a little cast handle. Also the hands are replace and a little too large and bulky for the job. Movement ticks and stops. Still a cute clock. Height 4 inches

C.1910, Ansonia “No. 411″ porcelain china clock in good original condition. This is a forest green clock with floral decorations of large white and pink hibiscus-like blossoms. The only fault we see on this clock is a set of changed hands (proper replacements are available from Timesavers for a couple of dollars). The gold highlights on this clock are still intact and very bright. Original paper dial is dark from age. Height 11”

Ansonia Clock Co. hanging weight clock, “Prompt”, C. 1901. Large 50″ oak case has been refinished and restored. I ascertained the wood is original except for some molding at the bottom. If you will compare a catalog picture to this clock you will notice 2 round balls attached to a piece of wood that goes across the base to the other side, with a carved tail piece in the middle. What I have described is in front of the larger tail or base, which is original on our clock. The restorer didn\’t attempt to make the pieces but instead put 3 pieces of base molding around the base, I suppose to disguise the fact there used to be something else there. The clock looks good, just isn\’t right. This is a nice and fairly rare model in that it is 2 weights, 8-day time only. The movement, mounted to an iron back plate, is in nice condition and running. Old dial was expertly repainted, bob, stick, beat scale, all good. A good woodman could restore this case to near original. Ly-Ansonia #599.

Ansonia Clock Co., crystal regulator, “Rampant”, ca 1914. This is one of their models with onyx top and base, and uses some metal decorations on the top and base of the four corners, and a small ornament under the roof line. This 14 inch case is generally good to excellent. I can only find one small chip in the green onyx, it being on the corner just below the left frontdoor post. Feet are different than those shown in the catalogs for this model, but they are correct Ansonia feet and I am sure were interchanged all thetime between the crystal regulators. 2 piece porcelain dial, hands, and open escapement, are near perfect, only one hairline near 10 o’clock. 8 day movement, gong strike on half hours, everything signed by the maker, just an awfully nice example of the onyx crystal regulators. C.1906, Ansonia Clock Co., “Regulator A” 8-day time/strike school clock, in good condition, with restoration. The walnut veneer is in excellent condition with only a small chip on one corner. The door glass is original and probably had the word “Regulator” which is now washed away. The dial has been repapered, and the hands are proper replacements. The inside label is loose and flaking, but quite legible. Height 32″
