Ansonia Clock Co., porcelain case, “Bobwhite”, ca 1895. This is one of the miniature series very similar to No. 146. Most were cream colored and decorated with flowers and gold gilt. This clock is only 5-1/2 inches high, has no breaks, chips, or repairs. Movement is one day, time only, runs long enough to get your hopes up, then quits. Nice beveled glass, brass sash; 2 inch paper dial is signed.

C.1914, Ansonia Clock Co., BUENOS DIAS, 8-Day figural clock in good original condition. This is novelty No. 268, and is also known as “Good Morning” (came in both language versions). Movement is sound, but ticks and stops Height 11.75 inches

C.1904, Ansonia Clock Co., “CALAIS” Iron case shelf clock. This clock has a fancy French type dial with Ivorine numerals. There is some gilt loss on the mounts. The case has a very pretty red marbleized finish, in excellent original condition; most of these were black and we do not often see other colors. The glass has been replaced (well done) and the bezel has a solder repair at the hinge; still overall very good to excellent condition. Height 13 inches

American Ansonia Clock Co. Royal Bonn “Chartres” Clock, Circa 1900 5 inches enamel dial, 8-day, brass spring driven movement, fancy light green case with hand painted floral scene, 8 day-half hour gong strike, decorated with New Art tints, refer to “American Clocks” Vol. II No. 128 by Tran Duy Ly, minor hairline on dial, otherwise very good working condition with normal wear. Ansonia Clock Co., “Columbia”, ca 1904. No doubt this was Ansonia’s top of the line for clocks of this type. It sold for $110 in 1904, which intoday’s dollars would be over $5, 000. This was a near perfect clock when Iobtained it from the Millers. Bruce Baziluk refinished certain parts of thesilver and gold to put it back to like new condition. It is as nice as anyyou will ever see. There are two frieze scenes on the front and one on eachside, all finished in gold, the rest of the case finished in silver. ShepherdBoy statue also finished in silver. The dial and sash are both silver andgold. The sash and numerals are silver, while everything else, inner dial, open escape, dial overlay, and hands, are all gold. The movement is 8 day, striking a gong on half hours and hours, runs fine. As clean inside as itis outside. The black part of the case is enameled iron and it is also nearperfect. It is 25″ high and 24.5″ wide. If you have never seen this clock, you would be surprised at the size, and the detail of the Shepherd Boy andthe frieze scenes. Ly-Ansonia No. 1581.

C.1915, Ansonia Clock Co, “CROWN” crystal regulator in generally fair to good condition, with restoration. Note this clock has been sprayed over with an antique gold paint, and the fancy spelter finial on top is bent slightly to one side. Also both bottom nuts are missing from the pendulum. The porcelain dial and open escapement movement are in good condition, and the clock would restore OK. The man who consigned this particular clock is dreaming, and taking up catalog space that belongs to clocks in better condition; he should now have the message. Height 15 1/2″

Ansonia Clock Co. “Crystal Palace No. 1 Extra”, C. 1880. Oak base and back, 17.5″ high, original glass dome with a band on the base. The figures, fancy bezel, movement, all clean as a pin. 8 day movement strikes a nickel bell on the half hours. It has the 2 jar, Davies Patent pendulum, and the clock is running great. No label on the back, figures have some green in the grooves like the green on the bezel. Paper dial is not signed or soiled, would take it to be a replacement. As usual with the Crystal Palaces, you can always find some things that don\’t look exactly like the pictures in the catalogs. The figures for one example, the gun is resting a little more to the left, the oak base isn\’t rounded quite like the catalog pictures. All I can say for sure is, it is awfully nice.
