  • Antique Ansonia “La Tosca” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

Ansonia Clock Co., Royal Bonn, “LaTosca”, ca 1904. This is another colorful, tall case. It is 14.5″ high, and 10″ wide. Colors, like No. 387, start with red-rose on top, changing to light green then dark green on the base. A lion’s head on top, small open space might be a snake? or varmit of some kind, on top of an urn which changes to a tree? Strange, it could be anything. The flowers are white, yellow, and red. The usual gold accent painted mostly around the base. Ly-Ansonia, page 635.

  • Antique Ansonia “La Vera” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

C.1901, Ansonia, La Vera, Royal Bonn porcelain china clock in excellent restored condition. The colors are very striking on this clock, a deep reddish purple around all of the edges and the floral decorations are yellow daisies amongst purple pansies. The top and sides of the case are decorated as well. This is a perforated case, the arches above the dial open for ligHeight to pass through. The signed Ansonia movement has a nice porcelain dial with Arabic numerals plus open escapement in the dial center; this movement was just serviced by a clockmaker and has been re-bushed, plates polished and is in excellent running order. Note this clock had the left rear foot professionally re-attached at some time and is only noticeable on the closest inspection; a surface crack below numeral 7 does not go all the way through the case. We have shown the left foot in the image to give evidence of the good repair. With good Bonn Trademark on the rear. Ready to enjoy. Height 121/4” $1,000-1,500

  • Antique Ansonia “La Vire” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

C.1912, Ansonia Clock Co., “La Vire”, Royal Bonn porcelain china clock in excellent original condition (dirty, needs clean). This case has the desirable 4-color case that came into vogue after 1910, starts at dark rose at the top, down to blue, then to yellow and green in succession. The hand painted flowers below the dial show nice detail. In 20 years of selling Bonns, this is the first La Vire we have had; note the delicate little pierced work at top center. The illustration in Lyis Ansonia book (figure 2582, page 606) does not do the clock justice; it is really impressive in person. Original movement has never been out of the case and needs cleaning. Height 15 inches

  • Antique Ansonia “Newton” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

Ansonia Clock Co. figure clock, “Newton”, ca 1894. It is 8 day, striking a gong hours and half hours, 2 piece porcelain dial with open escapement. Hairlines and chips abound. I would order a replacement dial ring from Timesavers. Base, statues, clock tower, have been refinished some time in the past. Black enameled base is 17 1/2 inches wide and total clock height is 15 inches. A bronze plaque on the front of the base says, “Sir Isasc Newton: Contemplating the World”. A very attractive case and statue combination. Original and complete except where noted. Glass is bowed which is different, and beveled. Ly-Ansonia No.512.

  • Antique Ansonia “No. 501” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

C.1895, Ansonia “No. 501″ Porcelain China shelf clock in very good condition. This is definitely a German Bonn case, but it slipped through unsigned; retains original Ansonia movement. There is a small brass shim behind the brass bezel that should be removed, but it has been there a long time, so we left it. Good open escape movement runs and strikes and with fancy dial with red fleur-de-lis between the Arabic numerals. This case has the identical floral trim as the clock pictured in Ly\’s Ansonia book (1998), page 628; light purple case with yellow and dark pink flowers. Note the sides and top of the case are fully decorated with similar flowers. Ly gives this model a value of $1000, but without the signature, we are assigning a lower estimate; Height 13”

  • Antique Ansonia “Novelty No. 803” Model Clock

    Antique Ansonia

C.1894, Ansonia Clock Co., “Novelty No. 803” 30-hour novelty timepiece. This silver finish timepiece looks very similar to the “Barge”, but the Barge has a different design on the base (a shell). This timepiece is in nice condition, much of the silver finish worn off; note there was a bit of corrosion on the sail above the dial, but not obvious under silver touch-up. The front bezel that supports the glass has lost its nickel finish. The dial has been very carefully re-papered and with proper Ansonia logo; the hands are original. Seems to run. An uncommon clock. Height 14.5” $225-$325
