    8 day movement strikes half hours and hours on a coil wire gong. Recently serviced and runs strong. The old oak case is only 19 1/2 inches high, but is as good as good as its bigger brothers. The case is untouched and very attractive in the dark color. Full label, old signed dial, good glasses. Ly-AnsoniaNo.665.

    What a fine rosewood veneer case, refinished some time ago, but just outstanding deep rich color. No veneer loss, but a chigger bite on a corner and a tiny scrape, hauling here no doubt. It would probably cover over if I would take the time. 8 day movement strikes hours on a coil gong. The paper dial is a recent addition, a nice installation, and looks great. Two fine glasses, two like new labels, old brass bob, bezel and rings polished and sure look good with this great rosewood case. The movement is also shiny clean, running strong. Ly-Ansonia #665.

    This clock is clean and in good running order. However, the very top of the bow trim (just the top loop) is missing and the left arm of the falconer was repaired maybe 30 years ago. Finally, the knurled set knob is absent from the rear and you need to use a watch key (included) to set the time. This model uses the small iron base, that is original, and the 4 cast feet are intact, gilding rubbed away. Despite these small shortcomings, this is a good example of an early and hard to find clock. Height 25.5 inches

    the arm is in excellent original condition, with a good dial, only slight darkening of dial paper near 8. The statues retain great original patina, however the clock was bumped a bit in shipment and both statues have been pushed maybe a half inch to the right, bending the top brass bridge support [see this in foto of clock].     the figures retain original surfaces and color, with no damage or losses. The black enameled iron base has just a few very small chips in the paint. The signed dial has just a faint bit of toning. The movement is stamped ÒAnsoniaÓ on the inside of the front plate, not easily visible from the back, and has had recent professional service. Overall height 26.75; length of long arm is 24Ò.

The arm was previously bent in transit, and the rods had to be straightened and polished, however, the canister, dial, hands, and bob are all xlnt and with proper movement, and it is now in good order.     Another clock from the same collector. The top metal is dark, probably a Syrian Bronze finish. The base which is normally enameled black on iron is the shade of Japanese Bronze, with a slight green look, somewhere between bronze and green. The etched designs are black filled. Case is 16.5 inches high, 19.5 inches wide, complete, and all original. 8 day movement, strikes a gong on half hours, running. 2-piece porcelain dial is good, but dirty around the edges and the arbors. Open escapement, beveled glass, and correct pendulum and key. Ly-Ansonia No. 493.

    This clock is in outstanding condition with original finish. The original dial is very clean for its age. The hands, tablet and pendulum are original, also orig paper lining in back of case. Most of the nickel plating on the dial pan remains. There is evidence there was a label on the back of the case. This clock belonged to a gentleman in Derbyshire who gave it a place of prominence in his home. Height 24Ó $300-$400

    Old paper dial and Ansonia pendulum. Old black paper covering on the backboard is flaking, was never a label there. I would put black paper back, would sure make the clock look good.     We usually have these in walnut, this is an oak case which is somewhat rare. The case has been refinished just enough to look good. There is still some black in the nooks and crannies that would have been nearly impossible to remove. The inside backboard has the dark wall paper covering, glass is original, as is the dial, hands, pendulum, all the finials and other wood parts. The only thing missing that we see is whatever label may have been on the back. This is an 8 day, time, strike, and alarm, movement, clean and running. Strikes half hours on a gong and alarms on a nickel bell. Ly-Ansonia No. 1776.

    The 24 inches high oak case is in good condition, was probably refinished at one time, tips on all finials good. Old paper backing. Original two piece paper dial with Ansonia logo, old hands. Part of the stenciled glass is weak but shows Ansonia script strong. Fancy pendulum with good up and down indicator label in center. 8-day movement strikes the hours and half hour on wire gong, running. Ly-Ansonia No. 1776.

    22 inch black walnut case with a replaced base and glass. Most of the flocking paper inside is missing. Paper dial has been on a while. 8 day, strikes half hour and hours, running. Metal brass heads and Minerva on top are original. If you can live with some small case nicks, the new base, you will have a pretty expensive clock at one third the price. Ly-Ansonia No.1776.

    The clocks made in the 1880’s were for the most part top quality, elaborate designs on glasses, ornaments, pendulums, and the best of woods. This original, way above average clock for its age, is made of black walnut and stands about 24 inches high. If you would say the top finial is not original I wouldn’t argue, but it is awfully close to those pictured in catalogs. Note the metal lion’s heads on the columns and the Minerva head on top. The movement is 8 day, strikes the half hours on a cathedral gong and alarms on a brass bell. The clock is running. A full label on the back should be protected as it is coming loose. After writing this and examining closely, I will not say the glass is positively original. Could be, but may not. Ly-Ansonia #1776-1777.

The 8-day Ansonia movement is running strongly, striking on the hours and half-hours on the cathedral gong. Horton’s sold this clock in 2015 for $680.

    Another large case standing 13.75″ high, 14″ wide, all the necessary markings on the case to substantiate what it is. Great colors beginning with Ruby Red on top, slowly changing to dark green on the base. Six feet support the case. The case designer or mold maker must have worked overtime to design such a beautiful case. Excellent 2 piece porcelain dial, open escapement, hands, back cover, and pendulum. The movement is 8 day, runs well and as usual strikes the half hour and hours on a gong. This clock is in excellent condition, and is bright and clean. American sash, beveled glass.     My wife cabbaged onto this clock several years ago and just recently agreed to let me sell it. Case identical to #282 except for the color. It is shades of blue all over except for the flowers all over the front and sides, and the usual gold accents. Clean original clock except for the metal back cover. It is black, not brass, and is not an Ansonia back cover. The outer ring of the two piece porcelain dial has some hairlines. If you want perfect and original, it isn’t for you, if you want very nice and colorful, it will do wonderfully. Ly-Ansonia, page 615.

    generally good condition. At the rear service hole, there is a 1 inch crack that has been there for a long time, right next to the trademark. Something dripped on the top of the case and when we wiped it off, it had etched through some of the color (does not show from the front). Finally there is a hairline in the chapter ring near 2, and a small chip in the crystal. Retains good open escape movement in sound condition (does need cleaning). The line drawing in the catalog does not show the 3-dimensional nature of this case. Note this has 4 shaded colors, going from green to yellow, blue and dark red at top. Height 12 inches

    the case is in outstanding condition. There is a small defect in the glaze on the left side that only about 1/16th of an inch in diameter. Royal Bonn trademark is stamped on the back of the case, near the embossed name of the clock. Two piece porcelain dial and round beveled glass is excellent. Original hands. Proper Ansonia pendulum. The movement is signed.
