The case is in original polished mahogany with antique brass trimmings and is in very nice condition. The porcelain dial is in excellent condition with a nice beveled glass bezel. The hands are original. Overall a very nice example of this model. Ht 20″.

Ansonia Clock Company, “Cabinet Antique”, ca 1894.

This is a cousin to the Cabinet Antique No. 1, probably made at the same time. Both sold for $32 in 1894, which was twice what you would have paid for an Ansonia Capitol or Bagdad. The 20 inches high mahogany case is very nice with a few age marks. All the brass was removed, cleaned, and polished, by Bruce Baziluk. The clock is near perfect and is highlighted by the cartouche numerals and the brass dial overlay. There is a French sash and a heavy beveled glass. This model has an 8 day movement, strikes a gong on half hours and hours, and is running. This is a hard to find model, and almost impossible to find in this condition. Ly-Ansonia No. 835 and No. 836.

It does appear that a couple of the top finials may have been restored or replaced, however the clock is generally in good original condition with excellent original finish. The brass trimmings have a couple coats of old gold paint, but we’d probably leave it as is rather than try to clean it off. A model that is hard to find in good condition. Height 20 inches

There are 6 models in this series of mantle clocks, each similar, but yet different. This one is 19 inches tall, an antique oak case with brass trimmings. Case and ornaments extremely clean. Not refinished as there is an accumulation of grime still in the grooves and corners. It was probably cleaned with one of the mild modern cleaning products.Porcelain dial ring, gilt metal inner dial. French sash, heavy beveled glass. 8 day movement strikes a gong on half hours, running. Complete and all original. Ly-Ansonia No.846.

Ansonia Clock Co., small porcelain, “Brant”, and so signed on the case.

Almost 6″ wide and 5″ high, covered with painted pink flowers all over plus a smattering of gold accent. Signed paper dial, nice beveled glass, and an extra fancy sash. There is one small chigger bite on the top right that you have to look from the top to see. Not running and from the looks of the screws holding the movement, no one has tinkered with it. I would think a cleaning should rectify that problem.
