The only thing that keeps this from being outstanding is some minor yellowing of the case under the dial. This clock was also packed away carefully and will benefit from cleaning; the movement is complete and sound. This is the same clock as pictured in Tran Duy Ly’s Ansonia book (1998), page 630. It is light pink and magenta with gold highlights, accented with dark pink, yellow and blue flowers. Retains good Bonn trademark on rear. We expect a lot of attention on this hard to find model. It is obvious the two green jars don’t go with this clock, but are there for effect. The clock is one day with a calendar, and running beautifully. Originally made with a nickel finish, still pretty good but some under-coat showing in a few places. You can tell someone tried to polish the metal, but if you know what cleaner to use you can make it look much better. Pretty nice old dial, probably paper, signed by Ansonia. The knobs on the back and the hands, all appear to be original. If it had the original ink jars I would think this piece would bring 550 dollars or more. Ly-Ansonia #783.

Ansonia Clock Co. mantle clock, “Parisian”, ca 1880.

Most call this dark walnut case that is about 24″ high, “teardrop”. It was cleaned but no polish put back on the wood. The wood parts are original and all intact, has a wonderful glass featuring a peacock, other birds, and even a lake with a boat on it. No door latch but the nickel pendulum and nickel gong base are very good, and the nickeled dial rings match the other nickel items. Old signed dial is soiled, and the hands and alarm set ring are correct. The 8 day movement and alarm movement both are functioning properly, alarm sounding on the nickel gong base, and the hours and half hours sounding on the Cathedral gong. Ly-Ansonia No. 1778.

Jul 2021 – #176 Antique American Clocks Ansonia Clock Co. “Ossipee”, ca. 1914. This model is not listed in Ly’s book on Ansonia clocks, but there are plenty of examples on LiveAuctioneers. The case is 11.5 inches tall by 13 inches wide, here in a blue-green tint with pink flowers and good gold highlighting. There is a chip to the case at the back of the right foot. The two-part porcelain dial has a faint hairline at the ‘5’ and the ‘8’ and bears the Ansonia logo; the beveled flat glass has some scratches over The 8-day signed movement is running and striking; the pallets are steel. This is a great cobalt blue case with gold highlights intact. The decorations are pink and yellow blossoms. The clock retains original paper dial (with minor stain), and with Ansonia insignia. The movement was cleaned maybe 10 years ago, and is still running and striking. Has original hands and case hardware; a great beginner’s porcelain clock. Height 11.5Ó $300-$500

The one small hurt is at the very top tip of the case where it suffered a small chip long ago that has been painted in (takes close inspection to see this).
