C.1910, Ansonia Clock Co, REVIEW, porcelain china clock in very good original condition, but dirty and in need of cleaning. This case is medium to dark green with violet and yellow flowers and with gold highlights. This clock stood in an attic for a long time and the highlights are really brilliant (not worn off by the maids weekly windex). Has good open escapement dial, with hairlines at right winding hole. Height 11 inches

C.1901, Ansonia Clock Co., “Repeater” Alarm Clock This nickel clock is in very good condition with only a small amount of wear on the back and a some pitting on the bell. The dial is very clean, and with Ansonia trademark; ticks and alarms. Height 6 “

C.1886, Ansonia Clock Co., RENAISSANCE, complete with girandoles and glass prisms, and in excellent restored condition. This set is really an eye catcher, all 3 pieces having been polished, brass plated and lacquered. The clock movement has been cleaned and is running as well. As nice an example as you will ever find. Ansonia Clock Co. porcelain cased, “Relay”, C. 1904. This is a large clock that is 13.5″ wide and 11.25″ high. I know it isn\’t one of the La whatever, but it is a very stylish and colorful case, clean as a pin, shining all over, brass shining. All Ruby, even the flowers are darker than most, but an abundance, and some would say an overabundance of gold striping. Note the open pretzel looking things on the sides. Outstanding 2 piece porcelain dial, open escapement, hands, thick beveled glass in the French style, machined bezel, and American sash. Completely original but with a couple of small imperfections; a place on the top the size of a match head that must have been a chip, now touched up with paint; a sliver on the back bottom edge is missing. Neither of the imperfections can be seen unless you are trying to find them. 8 day movement, strikes half hours on a gong, runs good, has a correct pendulum and back door. Ly-Ansonia #2591.

Ansonia Clock Co. Royal Bonn porcelain clock, “Relay”, ca 1904. This is a bright pink case, pink flowers on all sides and top, a lot of gold, making this a very attractive case. One of the large cases being 13 1/2 inches wide, 11 1/4 inches high. Open places on each side making it very different. There is a small sliver off on the rear bottom, and a place on top the size of a match head that could be touched with fingernail polish. Both places hardly noticeable. This may not be a clock for the purists who are attempting to collect a set of perfect Ansonia porcelain or Royal Bonn clocks. Very nice 2 piece porcelain dial, open escapement in the center. 8 day, half hour gong strike, a good runner, pendulum is not original but Timesavers can remedy that. Ly-Ansonia No.2591.

C.1883, Ansonia Clock Co., “Regulator No. 4” in walnut, with restoration and in good running order. The case has been stripped of its finish. The original iron mounting bracket has been attached in the original holes with machine screws were the wood pulled out (looks OK). The top side finials are replaced (center original), and the bottom finials are missing; top left molding with small chip. The Ansonia beat scale is in an envelope in the case. The well made Swiss center sweep pinwheel movement has been cleaned and re-strung and with a strong beat; the hands, bezel and pendulum are original. Big and impressive and will respond to restoration. Height as shown 82 inches

C.1885, Ansonia Clock Co., “Regulator No. 17”, with restorations. This is a solid oak case and is VERY heavy. It was in a barber shop in Michigan for some time, with limited space, and the Victorian bottom and a portion of the top were removed. Later, a cabinet maker created a lovely bottom and top which look OK, but are very different from those shown in the 1894 Ansonia catalog (see Ly, No. 571, page 176). He managed to stain them a caramel color, leaving the old finish on the main case intact. The 2-jar Mercury pendulum is antique, but may have come from another clock (it is a Waterbury pendulum). The mercury is clean, but can not be taken to the hotel and must be picked up in Salem, NH. The movement is a typical pinwheel with center seconds hand and porcelain dial in xlnt condition. It is running robustly. Impressive despite the case modifications. Height 86 inches

C.1885, Ansonia Regulator no. 14, less bottom. This clock merits your time in making a bottom to complete the case. The gridiron pendulum bears the plaque of M. L. SHEEHAN (jeweler\’s), 785 8th Ave, New York. The pinwheel movement is original and sound; the final glaze coat on the dial was a little weak and a couple of numerals have started to fade. The hook for the weight has been improperly replaced (an easy correction). The case retains original top, carved trim and burled panels and is quite attractive. If it had the original bottom and finish, we would have expected this to bring $10,000. Height 71 inches
