Ansonia Clock Co. enameled iron case, “Unique”, ca 1880.
Good paint on the iron case, gold in incised designs over the front. Some paint chips on the front base, otherwise good. Case is 10.5″ high and 9.5″ wide. Flat glass in the brass sash, two piece paper dial and correct hands. Advertising on the dial says, “I. Lewkowitz / Manufacturing Jeweler / 290 Grand St.”. Correct metal back cover, proper pendulum, earlier models strike on an iron bell rather than a gong. Signed 8 day movement is running. Ly-Ansonia No. 1128.

The same model as No. 630, but this one appears a little nicer. No paint loss on the case and the dial is more attractive. The hands are suspect; there is a bowed glass in the sash. This is a later model than No. 630, striking on a Cathedral gong rather than a bell. Correct metal back cover, pendulum bob, and signed 8 day movement that is running and striking properly. LyAnsonia No. 1128.
