Jan 2021 – 212 Antique American Clocks Ansonia Clock Co. “Ranger”, ca. 1886. An uncommon shelf clock with no sales in the Antique Clocks Price Guide. The 20-inch walnut or perhaps mahogany case has an old finish and good patina; the door glass is original with a stenciled pattern. All the finials are correct. The paper dial is a replacement with an alarm ring but the alarm mechanism has been removed. The signed, 8-day movement is running and striking a wire gong on the hours and half-hours. beat scale inside, two-barrel pendulum, and a label on the back. A nice example.
