Ansonia Clock Co., 4-Glass crystal regulator, PEERLESS, with 3 figures, Cupid at top [with arrow still attached], and the case flanked by 2 other cherubs, open escapement on the dial and gong striking, C.1905

this is a nice tu-tone clock, with the figures in dark bronze color. Although the arrow is bent and could not stand much straightening, it is still there, while the one photographed in Ly’s Ansonia book [fig 340] is lacking cupid’s arrow. Overall excellent original condition. Ht 19.5″

Brass and cast metal gold finish case with remains of some gilding on the side pieces. Someone has added some color to the cast putti on the case sides. Original porcelain dial and all four beveled glass panels are fine. Original hands and pendulum. A cast arrow that was held by top statue is inside the bag with the key. Movement is signed.

Ansonia Clock Co., New York, “Peerless” crystal regulator, 8 day, time and strike, spring driven movement with visible Brocot escapement in an ornate gilt metal case with two child figures on each side and Cupid with his bow on top, two piece enamel dial with blued steel hands and double-vial pendulum.

Brass and cast metal case has the remains of the original gilding. The original signed porcelain dial and all four beveled glass panels are in very good condition. Original hands and pendulum. A cast arrow that was held by top statue is missing. Strikes on a cathedral gong. Pallet jewels are likely red carnelian. The movement is signed.
