Ansonia Clock Co. Royal Bonn case made in Germany, with Ansonia’s name for the clock, “La Vende”, also imprinted on the case.

This must have been a poplar case style and color as this is the 4th one we have had, and another is coming for this auction. The case has a lot of style with the open loops, flame top, shell bottom. Color is off white, some gold accent, and nice purple, rose and yellow flowers painted on the case. The movement is typical 8 day, half hour strike. Two piece porcelain dial, open escapement, beveled glass, clean and polished brass. Another case from this Ansonia collection that appears in all respects to be perfect. We have sold this model, as have other auctions, upwards of 2000 dollars. Ly-Ansonia, page 638.

Ansonia Clock Co. Royal Bonn case,

Ansonia Clock Co. Royal Bonn case, “La Vendee”, ca 1904.

Another beautiful case style that may have been a favorite around 1900, because we see this model more often than any other. A large clock standing 14.5 inches high, 13 inches wide. An unusual flame top, two open bridges or arches on top, flame tip on the base, and four feet. Case is cream or off white, decorated with very nice painted flowers all over the front and sides. We like the use of the gold more on this case than most others. It was used sparingly on the base and more liberal on the top. Makes a really good looking clock that fits in most any decor. Movement and everything else is original and typical Ansonia. Ly-Ansonia, page 638.
