Antique Ansonia La Vergne Clock
Jul 2021 – #170 Antique American Clocks Ansonia Clock Co. “La Vergne” Royal Bonn clock, ca. 1914. An 11.75-inch by 14-inch wide porcelain case with mauve to green coloring, bright gold highlighting, pink roses on the front and a visible escapement. The outer porcelain dial shows several cracks; it sits behind a beveled glass in a standard bezel. I see no cracks, chips, or repairs to the case; the 8-day time-and-strike movement is signed and running, but the strike hammer is missing the cathedral gong. A very colorful example of this popular clock of its era.

This is an attractive multicolor case that starts with blue at the top, changing to yellow in the center and dark green at the base. The movement has been professionally cleaned and polished to the highest standards, and is in good running order. C.1914, Ansonia La Vergne, Royal Bonn porcelain clock in excellent original condition.
This clock came to us from storage and the movement will need cleaning; it is complete and sound and does tick and strike properly. The porcelain dial is very good, with nearly invisible hairlines at 2, 4 and 5:30. The case itself is an off white with very bright panels of medium violet and lime green, offset with dark pink and yellow roses and gold highlights. Retains good Bonn signature and model name on rear. An attractive clock. Width 14.25 inches, Height 11.75 inches

overall good original condition; no cracks, no chips nor repairs, to case, however there is one small chip in the porcelain chapter ring near 2 o’clock. There are 2 very fine scratches on the right side of the case. Also no rear dust cover. Ht 11.8″

In a green case with multi-color floral decorations and a marked “Ansonia” 8 day T&S movement; a marked porcelain dial with visible movement and the pendulum. (The clock is not running at this time. The case is crazed and has a hairline crack on the back. The back door needs to be re-attached. The center of the dial has a hairline.) 11 1/2″ Tall x 14″ Wide

Ansonia Clock Company, “La Vergne”, ca1914. This is a large case compared to most of Ansonia’s Royal Bonn’s, standing just under 12 inches high, but a wide 14.25 inches.
Same movement and accessories as No. 65, and like all the clocks in this collection, we will call perfect. Similar colors also used, reds at the top, gradually changing to dark green at the feet. There is a good bit of gold accent around the edges and on the base, and some flowers are all gold, but most of the flowers are rose colored. A very impressive clock. Ly-Ansonia No. 2613.

This is amuch bigger, more colorful clock than the catalogs reveal. It is 11.75″ high, and 14.25″ wide. Many colored case, beginning with red on top, quickly changing to light blue, light green, yellow, and back to light blue then greens at the base. A lot of gold is used around the edges and on the base, some flowers are all gold. Hopefully the picture will reveal the many pleasing colors. Ly-Ansonia No. 2613.
