Ansonia Clock Co. mantle clock, “Chippendale”, ca 1890.
This is the middle section of a much larger clock. The two pieces that should be attached to the sides are missing. The section we are offering will be a complete clock to most people, because the Chippendale model is not shown in the clock books. On the back is a nice black label. It has a nice two-piece porcelain dial with the open escapement mechanism, correct hands, and beveled glass in the French sash. Etchings and grooves on the front with original gold in place. 8 day, half hour and hour on a cathedral gong. Movement plates are nickel, springs are in barrels, and clock is running.
