Ansonia Clock Co. "Virginia and Group No. 2806", ca 1904. One of Ansonias biggest and best. Came from a collection of nice Ansonia clocks, it is original and unrestored. Lots of detail around the metal case. Rounded sides of silver, trim around the cast scenes is Syrian Bronze and the ornaments, feet, etc. are Barbedienne Bronze. The dial is very special and houses the outside escapement mechanism. 8 day time, half hour gong strike. Clock base and top is enameled iron finish. Resting on top is the statue "Opera" or asI said in the beginning, "Group No. 2806" as shown in the catalogs. 25inches high with the statue, 20-1/2 inches wide.
