Antique Ansonia "La Claire" Model Clock

Previous Model - Next Model
La Claire

Catalog Description:

Ansonia Clock Co., Royal Bonn, "La Claire", ca around 1900. The clock has withstood the test of time very well. I see only one small hairline on a rear leg. This is a very rare and unusual case style for Ansonia. One would think the top knob would have been knocked off several times but it is unbroken. Case is cream colored with lime green, pink, purple, and red accents. There is a nice distribution of gold striping to set it off. 8 day, half hour gong strike, 2 piece porcelain dial, open escapement, all very nice.Large 15 inch high case. I checked many auction catalogs for this model andnotice that Schmitt’s Auction sold one April 2001 with a repaired top, for$1900 plus. See Ly-Ansonia No. 2705.
