Antique Ansonia "Gonfalon" Model Clock

Catalog Description:

Ansonia Clock Co. Crystal Regulator, "Gonfalon", ca 1906. Brazilian green onyx top, base, and columns. The central part of the case is a typical crystal regulator with 4 perfect beveled glasses, polished brass case and rich gold ornaments. The case was restored several years ago, so is very clean, bright inside and out, and running very well. Note the Roman frieze acrossthe top, 2 unusual finials above the columns, very nice capitals and bases, and other ornaments on and about the case. 8 day, striking a standing cathedralgong on the half hours, round movement with rack and snail count. Very attractiveimitation mercury pendulum. 2 piece porcelain dial, open escapementwith jeweled pallets. This type onyx has several shades of colors and inthe veins between colors it looks like a crack or break when actually thereisn’t one. I have checked the case closely and see only one place that mostsurely is a hairline or a split. It is near impossible to see the split whereit is. I just had to find something so I couldn’t say the clock was perfect.Ly-Ansonia No. 409.
