Ansonia Clock Co. mantle clock, "Cabinet D", ca 1894. Anotherclock in this series of 6 cabinets Ansonia made with Antique Oak cases thathad a plethora of brass trim. Earlier in the catalog we had the Cabinet Fpictured. This is the tallest, standing 23 inches high, and the only onewith a visible pendulum, which by the way is the correct Minerva head pendulum.Movement is 8 day, running real strong and striking half hours on an exposedcoil gong. Cast brass dial and dial surround, plain sash and flat glass.Hands appear to be original. There are a couple of pieces of brass that maynot be correct. The eagle on top is not like the top ornament shown in thebooks, but it is patriotic. Also, the bottom trim piece is different fromthe book. There is a small ding in the wood on the right front case cornerat about 2 oclock. Ly- Ansonia No. 847.
